Choosing the right foundation for special occasions(Makeup Tips)

"Which foundation brand is the best? What base should 1 wear for a night out?"

Regarding brands I think that comes down to personal choice as everyone has different needs, budgets and wants and they also require different levels of coverage depending on their skin.

A young friend of mine asked me this question so I told her that because her skin is so beautiful, it should be celebrated with the less is more approach. 

I then went on to explain to her that if you want to have more of a party/night look play up your eyes with shimmer shadows or a smoky eye, perhaps even use a set of false lashes. 

Or have fun with a pop of colour on your lips that you wouldn't usually wear during the day. You can create a different look for evening events and occasions without using a heavy foundation if you have great skin.

 There are a lot of pretty shimmer powders and creams that can also be used to highlight the tops of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose which are a nice extra to your evening look.

If your skin is amazing, show it off! If you prefer some coverage, keep it light with something like a BB cream or tinted moisturiser with a little help from a concealer to pop under the eyes. 

Most of us need a little lift in this area to lighten and brighten, especially if we are suffering from lack of sleep or a poor diet.

When buying concealer, aim for a nice creamy consistency that is a half shade lighter than your BB cream or foundation. Whatever base you decide to wear, the most important choice is the colour it has to match your skin tone. 

Do not go too light or too dark as this creates a mask that is not flattering. Don't forget to use a peach or pink tone blush to finish your look.
