Tith the weather still threatening our skin game and the new year well underway, let's take a moment to mentally plan and make sure we'll be starting with and keeping our best face throughout the year.

Makeup is important and makeup is amazing.

All the weddings and asoebi photos of the past season told us so.

But now that all the back to backweddings have slowed a bit, let's take a beat to create a skin care routine that will help reclaim or maintain beautiful.

To do this our action plan should involve these steps:

1. Cleanse & Tone:

The importance of thoroughly removing every trace of makeup after every single day with wipes and some coconut oil or makeup remover cannot be overemphasized.

Cleanse and tone afterwards.

2. Exfoliate:

An adult takes between 20 28 days to replenish skin. With all that extra time, skin cells have a chance to dry out and lose lustre.

By using a gentle face scrub at least twice a week, you jump-start the renewal process by exfoliating.

3. Masks & Naps:

The right face mask can help hydrate skin, remove excess oils, improve the appearance of your pores, and help pull out impurities. Also, if you are not

How to avoid wearing a makeup mask

I'm not sure why some women create a perfect foundation on their face and then fail.

to complete the basics.

Often I see women only wearing a foundation, which removes all their natural skin colour, and this makes them look unwell.

So I felt the need to share the reasons why you need to spend another few minutes on your makeup routine.

When you create your perfect foundation, you have also flattened out your features and therefore to prevent the "mask" look, the bare essentials need to be applied to bring life back to your face.

groom or fill your eyebrows in with brow shadow or brow pencil so your eyes are framed.

If you do not want to bother with any eyeshadow, at least apply a few coats of mascara so you enhance your lashes, which will also remove any foundation or powder that may be sitting on top of them.

This step will open up your eyes.

If you have an extra two minutes you can apply a quick one colour shadow in a medium to dark tone, so you can apply it to your lid and under your eye as an eyeliner.

It is also fine to use a lighter colour on your lid, but it won't translate to an eyeliner.

Next apply a peach or pink tone blush, do not use bronzer as a blush because it is brown based and that can often make you look bruised.

A matt bronzer is great for contouring, but you must blend it with your pretty blush, so it does not reveal your secret. Otherwise a bronzer can be applied with a big makeup brush all over your face and body to give it warmth and the sun kissed look.

Last but not least, a lip gloss or lipstick will be the finishing touch to restoring and enhancing your natural features and I like to work from the top down, so beauty.
